This design reimagines the soul of Bengali village homes within a contemporary duplex, weaving memory, cultural tradition, and modern living into a cohesive narrative. A dedicated vantage seat symbolizes the honored place of elders, complemented by window seats framing lush greenery.

The under-stair play nook fosters intergenerational bonding, nurturing imaginative play while evoking nostalgia for older family members. Traditional Bengali elements—jharka-style windows, bamboo jali, woven chatai, and jali khatiya—are reinterpreted in refined contemporary forms, filtering daylight and harnessing natural ventilation.

Function and emotion merge throughout the design. The dining area serves as a hub for daily life, while earthy tones inspired by mud walls, bamboo textures, and aged wood create warmth. Sustainability is embedded through locally sourced materials, eco-friendly finishes, and integrated greenery.

Ultimately, this duplex bridges past traditions and contemporary aspirations, honoring heritage, nurturing relationships, and offering a timeless interior that reflects cultural memory and modern sensibilities.
